As the apostle Paul put it, the godly man is a “one-woman-man” (1 Tim. 3:2). He strives to have an affectionate mind and heart for one woman—his wife or wife-to-be. This involves developing and expressing a language of love that mirrors the love of Christ for the church (Eph. 5:29).
