Wednesday Wallpaper: God is Triune

Scriptures: Deuteronomy 6:4-9
by Jacob Abshire on September 14, 2016

The reality of God’s nature is proof of His transcendence and mysteriousness. He is both three and one. He is three in the sense of literal, personal identification and individuality at a substantial level that is different from being and essence. At the level of essence, He is divinely one.

Sound complex? It should. There is nothing we can associate in our realm of experience that relates to the nature of God. He is altogether different from anything we can understand. The triune nature of God (also called the “Trinity” or “Godhead”) can be described in three points: God eternally exists as three persons, each person if fully God, and there is only one God. Let this design remind you of the mysterious and transcendent nature of God who is triune, three and one.

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”

Deuteronomy 6:4-9
