God supplies the power we need to walk with Him. Left to ourselves, we cannot pray as we ought, resist sin as we must, or grow as we desire. But God graciously works in His people to will and to work for His good pleasure. This prayer asks for divine strength in the hidden place — where faith is strengthened, sin is confessed, and hope is renewed. The Christian life is sustained not by human willpower but by God’s Spirit. Reflect on your private prayers and ask Him for power to meet Him there.
That according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being.
Ephesians 3:16
