The Bible is not man’s invention. According to 2 Peter 1:20-21, no prophecy of Scripture ever came by human will. The authors were not originators—they were instruments. Moved by the Holy Spirit, they were carried along to write exactly what God intended. This means Scripture is not the product of man’s ideas, but the revelation of God’s voice through the hands of men. It is trustworthy because its source is divine. Let this design remind you to trust and obey the Word, knowing it comes from the Spirit who carried it into being.
Knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
