Houston metro is expected to exceed eight million people by the end of 2021. In its northern corner, an intersection of ethnic diversities and economic extremes exists. It is Houston’s infamous Fifth Ward, and it lacks a significant gospel presence.
Under the leadership of Del Traffanstedt, a core team from Northeast Houston Baptist Church has planted there to form a thriving church committed to outreach. We call ourselves Cross Community Church. We are a faith gathering for all people with our identity rooted firmly in Christ alone.
Our vision to impact our city for the Kingdom is to reach every home, school, and business within three miles, plant 3 churches, and revitalize 10 churches within 15 years for the glory of God.
“Therefore let us go to him outside the camp and bear the reproach he endured. For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come. Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.”
Hebrews 13:13-16
