Peter was writing to believers who were unjustly suffering for their faith in Christ. He encouraged them to be steadfast by reminding them that Christ suffered unjustly for their salvation and triumph over sin. Jesus was righteous but suffered for the unrighteous. Let this design remind you that when you suffer for your faith, Christ suffered for your salvation.
