Holiness is the soul’s deepest longing. Just as the body depends on breath for life, the renewed heart longs for purity, righteousness, and fellowship with God. Sin suffocates the soul, but holiness brings freedom, peace, and joy in His presence. This prayer asks God to awaken desires that are pleasing to Him and to make our hearts alive to spiritual things. Reflect on the condition of your soul and remember that true life is found in drawing near to the God who is holy.
Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
