Building a blameless reputation, or living “above reproach” as 1 Timothy 3:2 puts it, can be a daunting task. It requires patience, faithfulness, understanding, and spiritual power. Here are some scriptures to motivate you to keep building a blameless reputation for the glory of God. I suggest reading them often, and memorizing them as well.
- Philippians 3:12–14 — “Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
- 2 Corinthians 3:18 — “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”
- 1 Corinthians 1:8 — “God will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
- Colossians 1:21–22 — “And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him.”
- Ephesians 1:3–4 — “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.”
- Philippians 2:14–15 — “Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.”
- 2 Peter 3:14 — “Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace.”
May the Lord bless you while you pursue a life that is above reproach. I trust that His Word and Spirit will guide you into a blameless reputation.
