Wallpaper: Attachment (Valley of Vision)

Scriptures: Matthew 6:19–21
by Jacob Abshire on March 18, 2026

God frees us from clinging to earthly things. Our hearts are easily entangled with possessions, ambitions, and worries that weigh us down. But in Christ, we are invited to cast our cares on Him and find rest for our souls. The prayer to have our attachment weakened is not a call to despise God’s gifts but to hold them loosely, knowing they cannot bear the weight of our hope. Reflect on what competes for your trust and ask God to loosen your grip, that you might rest fully in Him.

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
