The trustworthiness of Scripture rests on the truthfulness of God. In Titus 1:2, Paul grounds our hope in eternal life on a simple yet staggering truth: God cannot lie. Everything He speaks flows from His flawless character. That means the Bible is not just inspired—it is reliable in every word, worthy of our confidence, obedience, and hope. To doubt His Word is to question His nature. But to trust His Word is to rest in His faithfulness. Let this design remind you that because God is truthful, His Word is entirely trustworthy.
Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the sake of the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth, which accords with godliness, in hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began and at the proper time manifested in his word through the preaching with which I have been entrusted by the command of God our Savior.
