Scripture: God Spoke with Authority

by Jacob Abshire on August 1, 2025

If Scripture is the Word of God, then it speaks with the authority of God. Its words don’t suggest—they command. They don’t invite speculation—they demand submission. Scripture is not just true; it is binding. Because it comes from the mouth of God, it carries the weight of His rule.

When the Bible speaks, God speaks. This is what gives Scripture its authority—not the church, not tradition, not popular opinion. The Bible has authority because it is God’s Word, and God alone has the right to rule His creation.

From Genesis to Revelation, Scripture claims this authority for itself. It rebukes kings, corrects prophets, instructs the humble, and confronts the proud. It is the final court of appeal in every matter of life, faith, and doctrine.

In this series, we’ll trace that authority back to its source. We’ll see that Scripture is God Breathed, God Spoke, and God Carried. Each article will explore how the Bible came to us—and why every word of it demands our trust, our obedience, and our lives.

We do not stand over the Word to judge it. We stand under the Word to obey it. The authority of Scripture is not a theological option. It is a divine reality. And it changes everything.
