His wounds make Friday good.
Although it cannot be proven beyond doubt, it is commonly believed that Jesus was crucified on a Friday — three days before He resurrected (Sunday). Many celebrate this day as Good Friday. It is also referred to as Black Friday (before the shopping holiday was developed) and Holy Friday. Whatever the day, Jesus was wounded, then killed, for the sins of His people (Rom. 5:8). Let this design remind you of Jesus’ affection and the great length He went to demonstrate it.
“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed”
1 Peter 2:24
