Wednesday Wallpaper: When They Saw the Star

Scriptures: Matthew 2:10-11
by Jacob Abshire on December 11, 2013

The wise men saw the star. This text is a wonderful reminder of God’s gospel and regeneration power to save man. Consider the fact that God took the initiative with the wise men, who were pagan astrologers. He met the men in their own context, communicating with them in a way they could understand (Matt. 2:2, 9). When they found Jesus, they freely worshiped Him as the object of their religious quest (adapted from the ESV Gospel Transformation Bible).

When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. And going into the house they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.
