Wednesday Wallpaper: Preach the Gospel and Be Forgotten

Scriptures: Genesis 11:4
by Jacob Abshire on January 7, 2015

In Genesis 11, the people came together to build a city with a tower that stretched into the heavens. Their misguided motive: to “make a name for ourselves” (Gen. 11:4).

Today, it is quite popular to make a name for yourself–even within some Christian teachings. In this wallpaper, Count Nikolaus Ludwig von Zinzendorf, theologian and bishop of the Moravian Church, reminds us to make a name for Jesus and be content to be forgotten. The photo was captured by the talented Julia Starr.

“Preach the gospel, die, and be forgotten.”
