Wallpaper: The King’s Heart in the Hand of God

Scriptures: Proverbs 21:1 ; Ezra 1:1 ; Ezra 6:22

No one is beyond the divine providence of God’s hand, not even authorities. Ezra reminds us of this. It was the Lord who “stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia” (Ez. 1:1) to initiate the Jews’ return to Jerusalem to rebuild the house of God. It was the Lord who “turned the heart of the King of Assyria to them, so that he aided them in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel” (Ez. 6:22). Providentially, the Lord started and finished the rebuilding of the Temple. This validates what the proverb says. Be reminded that God providentially works in the lives of all people, even authorities, to accomplish His will.

“The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the LORD; he turns it wherever he will.”
