During some of Spurgeon’s dark hours he found comfort in the sovereignty of God. When we talk about God’s sovereignty, we are talking about his ultimate power and right to rule the creation He made. It is a sweeping doctrine that touches every part and aspect of life in creation in every corner of the cosmos. It is comforting to the believer who trusts God to work all things for his good—regardless of how dark the hour might be.
“The sovereignty of God is the pillow upon which the child of God rests his head at night, giving perfect peace.”
Charles Spurgeon
